Ross Wood has been covering Grove Hill sports, at both schools as well as city ball, for almost 29 years with The Clarke County Democrat. He also has been involved with Dixie Youth baseball and softball as a coach, officer and board member.

He was named the 2003 Alabama Sports Writer’s Association Sports Writer of the Year. His daughter Carson, who graduated from Clarke County High School, is an honor student and junior at The University of South Alabama. His youngest daughter, Taryn, is a sophomore at Clarke Prep School.
